The Wenjiapo Retrofit Project had a 7-day renovation deadline and successfully resumed production and operation on the eighth day of the first lunar month. The new prefabricated trestle eliminated the high cost of temporary steel-frame shoring and freed up space at the mine. Once installed, it fully resolved the corrosion hazards of the original trestle, eliminating long-standing production safety risks at the source and helping the coal mine reduce costs, improve efficiency and operate safely.

Project Background
The existing in-service trestle suffered from severe corrosion underneath and deterioration of its components. To prevent sudden safety incidents, the mine had installed temporary steel-frame shoring. This remedial measure incurred substantial annual steel-frame rental costs and occupied space needed for mine production. It could not fully eliminate the safety risks, which continued to affect stable and efficient mine operations.
Retrofit Plan
A new prefabricated enclosed steel-truss trestle was constructed with a clear width of 7.3m, a clear height of 2.7m and a length of 29.8m, seamlessly connecting the clean coal and washed mixed coal transfer points.

Versatile
The prefabricated trestle accommodates different conveying requirements for raw coal, clean coal, coal gangue and other materials.
Fast
Using prefabricated construction methods, the new trestle was lifted into place and replaced within 7 days under the project's strict requirement for continuous, uninterrupted production.
Quality
The prefabricated trestle fully resolved corrosion hazards and freed up construction space at the mine, eliminating long-standing production safety risks at the source.
Savings
Replacing the additional temporary steel-frame shoring substantially reduced operation and maintenance costs. Annual equipment maintenance and steel-structure corrosion were reduced by 30% compared with the conventional solution.
